The road trip has my dad who’s been a mechanic for 30 years and my sisters friend who works in the office of a body shop. They have stories. So far:
1) Lady came in complaining of a rattle on a brand new GM vehicle. I don’t know why they didn’t take it back to the dealership but the body shop takes the door panels apart and there’s the source. A beer can in the door.
2) A few years ago the body shop went searching for a rattle in a door like the last one. Also a GM vehicle. The lady had been dealing with it for awhileand finally wanted it fixed. They take the doors apart and find a bolt on a string with a now that said “oh, you found it”.
3) In the late 70s my dad worked at a gas station and heard this story. Surprise it’s a GM vehicle. The customer came in complaining of a bad smell in her brand new Pontiac. They took the car apart and found a ham sandwich in the roof.
4) no backstory on this one but someone at the factory put a marble in the tunnel beneath the center console
Anyone have stories of factory fun?
